Internet and AI Logo Development
Today, many small businesses don’t want to afford hiring a professional, which can be costly in itself. But, we’ve had clients successfully use outsourced competitors for their branding project. For those of you on a limited budget here’s a list of logo design options you may choose to try. Our recommendation for bidding competitions is to set the award amount at a minimum of $300 to get decent project involvement. The higher the award amount the more designers will submit entries. NOTE: Remember to request the final delivery in vector format, ideally .ai (Adobe Illustrator format), .eps (another Adobe vector format but without embedded fonts), or transparent .pdf format, or an .svg format. Those are listed in order of value and preference.
Here’s the list, in order of preference based on our own experience:
99designs by Vista – With 99designs you can set a minimum award amount, describe what you’re looking for in your branding design, describe your target audiences, and your project will receive submissions from designers around the world. You choose the designer that you like best and send them instructions if you want modifications.
DesignCrowd – DesignCrowd works similarly to 99designs, you set the bid award and instructions and people submit entries, then you choose the winning designer and communicate with them about the specs.
CrowdSpring – crowdspring works like the two mentioned above except they offer priced packages starting at $299US (as of 2025). Designers from all over the world submit entries and you choose the winning design.
fiverr – With fiverr you select a designer using their excellent filtering search, contact them describing what you want, and the designer will respond with a custom quote. fiverr also has a DIY application where you can design your own, sort of, and this DIY approach to soliciting design quotes from the same available sources seems rather useless, imo.
